2021 Festival of Quilts

Hello Everyone,

It was such a shame that I wasn't able to be at the Festival of Quilts this year, I hope that those of you who made it had a wonderful time. Steph went this year and I asked her if she would take photo's of her favorite quilts to share with all of us that weren't able to get there. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I have. Just to keep you posted I will be at Ally Pally Knitting and Stitching show at the beginning of October (fingers crossed), so I will hopefully catch up with loads of you there.

In the meantime I hope you get inspired by these quilts. Love Nicola X

Hi All,

This past year and a bit have been very different! But we are finally getting back to some kind of normal here in the UK. I was lucky enough to be able to get some time away to visit Birmingham for the Festival of Quilts. It was very different to previous years, but still a great few days. I came away with hundreds of photos and a ton of inspiration!

Nicola asked me to take loads of photos of the quilts for you all to view, so that you can feel like you were there too.

I have picked a few of my favourites to show you.

I hope you enjoy!

PT44 - Summer Sunrise by Jane Appelbee (This one received a Judges' Choice)

NV8 - Scraps of Memories by Helen Chandler

NV12 - Lockdown Quilt: Remembering the Best of British by Beverley Scheurer

QG8 - Coming together, I can stitch a Rainbow! by Fiona Macaulay Davies

MD24 - Harmony Constant by Sue Thornborough

AT6 - Mountain by Mi Young Park

MD33 - Social Distancing by Kathy Moore

NV17 - Sunset outside the shade by Youn Kyung Song

NV20 - Staggy McStagFace by Leah Walker (I absolutely loved the name!)

NV2 - Geometric Calm by Joanne Nolan

CT9 - Meeting Point by Helen Horobin (this one also received a Judges' Choice)

TN39 - Water Wheels by Nicky Hargrave

PT20 - Solus (Light) by Paula Rafferty

This next one is my absolute favourite!! I love butterflies and teal, so both together definitely caught my eye.

QG26 - Migration by Caroline Harvey

So, that's it for now. I have so many photos of beautiful quilts that there is a definite possibility of a Part 2 to this blog.

Thanks and happy creating.

Steph
